two weeks

i'm not as far behind this time! proud of me?

may 13 - may 19
THE COLOR RUN.

the color run is an awesome 5K that happens all over the country, in which you run through color stations where people throw color powder on you and by the end of the run you look like you've been tie-dyed. since i had run 7.46 miles the week before, i opted to walk this one with anna and christina. all the proceeds for the run went to the Ronald McDonald House. i'll definitely be doing it again...if i can register in time. this thing sells out fast!
oh yeah! back2bellingham happened this week too. it was pretty glorious. there's nothing like seeing people you haven't seen in awhile when you are feeling pretty good about yourself.
Chris Roselli, you're my hero.
may 20 - may 26
i spent most of the week in rehearsal. but i also got a haircut. and bangs. i'm diggin' 'em.

may 6 - may 12

i headed to spokane last week to see my family and run bloomsday: an annual 12k race that brings and extra 30,000 people to the city. for me, it was a trail race. i'm running a half marathon at the end of june and i needed a milestone between now and then. almost the whole family ran bloomsday and all of us had pretty decent times. brother definitely won. go brother!

my dedication gets worse and worse...

as you can see, i'm behind again. at this point, the blog appears to be monthly as opposed to weekly. i still get photos every week, i just forget to post them i guess.

oh well. another catch up post. ENJOY.

march 25 - march 31
i don't seem to have any pictures from this week. according to my planner i had coffee with amalia, rehearsed for my staged reading, and prepared for my boss' departure to her new job (i.e. i was at work A LOT). so, here's a picture of shannon and i at guilty pleasures. it's a silly picture, but as i said previously i felt good that night, no matter what the picture looks like.

april 1 - april 7
i self-produced a staged reading monday of this week! i rented the Seattle Center House Black Box Theatre and got together a great group of friends who also happen to be very talented actors and put on a reading of three new one-acts i have written called Related Strangers. special thanks to Emily Kight, Anna Townes, Amanda Woodard, Shannon Erickson, and Analiese Guettinger for helping me get my work on it's feet.

i think the reading went very well. we had a pretty good turn-out, probably 15-20 people. a couple of very important people from work came to see the reading which meant a lot to me. and when i came to work on tuesday, i found this tapped to my computer:
 i have the greatest co-workers.

april 8 - april 14
i apparently forgot to fill out my planner for most of this week so i can't really reminder what i did. it was the office baby's first birthday though and he graced us with his presence for happy hour on the porch on a sunny day. happy first year wyatt (and congrats to josh & danielle!).

april 15 - april 21
this was a week of a couple of rehearsals with blood ensemble for a project called blood/sailing. it's a generative work based on a concept album by seattle heavy metal band Smooth Sailing. the show will take place in july at a to-be-determined venue. and between now and then a lot of fundraising is happening. so on april 16th, we filmed rehearsal for our upcoming kickstarter campaign. our filmographer also got some awesome stills during rehearsal. here's my favorite:

i did some many things this week!

first, i went to the zoo with emily for the second year in a row! yay, fun!
elephant, come with me!
yay zoo!
then theatre prom (theme: the night of the day of the dead) happened.
lovely (dead) ladies

whew. this has been a long post. hang with me, we're almost there.

april 29 - may 5
tuesday and wednesday i went on a work field trip to portland. we were there not even a full twenty-four hours but we managed to see a show (the beautiful Anna Karenina) and go to vodoo donuts. ooooooOOOOOOOOooooooooooo vodoo donuts. delicious.

okay. we made it. i'm going to try and be better. try.

catch up post

YES. i fell behind again. i blame work.

in other news:
march 4 - march 10
i'm pretty sure everyone in the world has a birthday in march. okay...okay, that's a gross exaggeration. however, there are a lot of people with birthdays in this wonderful month. including all five of the people you see below. there's my roommate christina (march 5), my dear friend anna (march 9), my other dear friend ashley (march 8), me (march 11th), and my best friend's boyfriend jeff (march 29).
these are awesome people. you should know them.
we spent this week and weekend celebrating. this is the crew that went out saturday night. good crew. good times.

march 11 - march 17
sunday, march 11th, being my real birthday, was a day of brunching and champagne. it was perfect actually. everyone came over, ate delicious food, and went home in time to rest and get ready for the work week. i was so exhausted after being so loved that i passed out on the couch with guests still in my living room at 5:00pm. as cliche as it may be, i felt really loved that day.

below is a picture of one of the gifts that my co-worker/great friend/work comrade shannon got me. of course it's a journal with an elephant on it. what more would you expect?

march 18 - march 24
this week was filled with work work work. i probably worked around (and possibly upwards) of 50 hours in preparation for book-it's annual fundraising gala guilty pleasures. it consumed my life. and the biggest part (that's a joke...sort of) was finding a dress. this is what i settled on. and yes, it is a crappy cell phone dressing room picture but you get the idea.
ignore the whole in my tights. although now that i've
pointed it out, you can't ignore it can you?
i don't know that i've ever felt this good in a dress. guilty pleasures was friday and we DID have professional photographers there. however, i worked the entire event and am not sure i'm in any pictures. once i know for sure, i'll maybe post one. because day-um, i felt good in this outfit.

DAY-UM.

digression: body art

there will be one more post from this week, as it was my birthday and many things happened. i don't have many pictures from the weekend but there is at least one or two good ones that i'll put up.

in other news, i got a tattoo:
i don't think i have ever been so confident in a decision in my life.

this tattoo is for my grandmother, those are her initials on top. it is based on one of the brass elephants she gave me. this year marks the fifth anniversary of her death. she was the best. i miss you grandma.

addendum 03/26/12: here is a better photo of the tat.

february 26 - march 3

i spend sunday and monday workshopping/collaborating/devising with an upcoming seattle group called blood ensemble. they are currently working on a show that will incorporate the local heavy metal band smooth sailing. and yes, not just their music, THEM. it's gonna be sweet. i'm not sure what my continued involvement will be with the group but i hope either to be cast or be able to help them move their project forward. here's a picture of something cool we created.
also, we celebrated my roommate christina's birthday this week. it's was an interesting night to say the least. but the picture below illustrates that i was still pretty excited...as was anna.

february 19 - february 25

i'm pretty sure i hung out with anna at her apartment at some point during this (feb. 19 - 25) week at her kick-ass apartment.

see? i'm not the only one with a view.
