February 27, 2011 - my apartment
today was the second sunday of a monthly event i am calling "the apartment series." basically, i am trying to create an opportunity for all us artists to get together and read and eat and generally share creative ideas. they've been moderately successful so far. i think this time we had one more person than we did last time. go me.

plus, i make really delicious food. this time it was lasagna and red velvet sandwich cookies. i wonder what it will be next time...

February 26, 2011 - the kitchen: my apartment
this is what $101 dollars worth of groceries for a brunch looks like. these groceries have been used to make two lasagnas from scratch (one meat, one veggie), red velvet sandwich cookies, and to clean the apartment. i must admit, it was probably pretty funny to watch me struggle with these groceries in self checkout and then all the way down seneca. but on the upside, i used a coupon and got the groceries for only $85. nice.

now let's just hope people show up to this brunch to eat my food. i did spend all day on it. and let's be honest, i throw one killer brunch.

February 25, 2011 - Seattle: corner of 8th & Seneca
what was notable about today is that it is finally starting to look like spring. the sun was pretty consistently shining, lighting up everything in its path. i almost couldn't see at all on my walk home from work. i almost put on my sunglasses.

it does not, however, feel like spring. when will the two become one?!

in other news, i got some ever important alone time today. roommate one - in portland. roommate two - actually drunk with co-workers, crashing at boyfriend's. it was a lovely and incredibly tame evening. but would you expect anything less from me?

twenty-four.

once again, it was a day without a noteworthy picture. so here's one that i'm keeping as a stock image that might make an appearance from time to time. i did go to work so it is totally applicable.
February 24, 2011 - my office: Seattle Center House
other noteable events today: breakfast with cassi, dinner with emily, doritos.
oh and i forgot my dad's birthday. oops.

here's to a picture worthy day tomorrow!

what you see here is me wrestling with a letter folding machine. this machine vallantly folded 1308 spring campaign letters today. it was a long day. but all those letters are ready to go.

LIKE A BOSS.

although i did have a little bit of help. and what lovely help it was too.

February 22, 2011 - Downtown Seattle
it snowed a bit today. and everyone always has something to say about the snow. this is my something to say: by now, it's rain.

Monday, February 21, 2011

twenty-one.

i must admit i did nothing "picture worthy" today. in fact, i did close to nothing. there was the occasional load of dishes and i did clean my room just now...but i've already taken a picture of me cleaning my room. and if i start the precedent of taking pictures every time i clean my room, we're going to have a very long year. so i'll spare you.

here's what is pertinent about today:
- brother went home
- i shouldn't check my work emails before i go to bed. now i'm all sorts of stressed out.

i'll leave you with a picture from this weekend. because it was a lovely and gorgeous weekend.

February 20, 2011 - Fremont
today was brother's last day in seattle for this long weekend. he'll head back on the noon day plane tomorrow. this morning we wandered capitol hill: breakfast at the aforementioned favorite place (oddfellows), bought new music at everyday music, and new books at elliott bay book company. then we came back for a little down time and then it was out to fremont. we wandered some more, played on the troll, had delicious cake at simply desserts, and ate dumplings at pel meni which is a little reminder of bellingham.

now it's time to send brother home. i wish he could stay.

February 19, 2011 - The Gum Wall: Post Alley
brother is here! we took the city by storm by visiting the gum wall and the aquarium. i do love having brother here.

February 18, 2011 - my kitchen
today was a furlough day for me. which means i sleep in, look at how pretty it is outside, and generally do nothing. emily did come over for "brunch" today. (let's be honest, it was like 1pm. the only reason i was up at all was because i wanted to watch full house at 11). we made crepes. very successfully, i might add. well, except for the first one...which you see above.

and later, the sun started to set. and i was once again reminded of the beauty of the seattle.

February 17, 2011 - Driftwood Players: Edmonds
last night the roomies and i went to see our lovely friend emily in "the miracle worker" at driftwood players out in edmonds. she and her little helen keller (sarah dennis - emily and her are the two front and center) were very very good. there are only three more days of the show but if you get a chance, head out there and see it!

afterward, we went out for a much needed drink at the taphouse. this photo ended up much more artsy than i thought it would.

February 16, 2011 - my room
today i got a hair cut. the girl blew it straight for me. i don't really like it straight very often but i thought "hey, why not. i'm already here." plus i don't like saying no to hairdressers. they have scissors.

so this is what i would look like as a midwest soccer mom. in the midwest, everything is in sepia which is why this photo is too.

i've already washed out my hair so it will dry curly.

February 15, 2011 - my room
i was looking around trying to decide what to take a picture of for the day. i could have taken one of the sweet treat food cart that appeared at the seattle rep today (yum, treats) but a) i didn't have my camera on me and 2) nah.

when i was cleaning my room just now, this painting caught me eye. it's something i did awhile ago but only recently hung it on the wall. sometimes i feel like the anticipation of a bursting bubble is almost too much. sometimes i feel like that is what my life is like. sometimes, i highly doubt that is what my life is like.

regardless, my room is now clean and this is how i feel:

February 14, 2011 - SODO: Seattle
happy valentine's i guess. i went to costco and then i took this picture. exciting stuff.

maybe i'll rename the blog once again. this time it'll be 365 different views on the city of seattle.

February 13, 2011 - my apartment
okay, to be honest, until this evening i hadn't left the house in roughly two days. and when i did leave the house it was to get cheesecake at the cheesecake factory. it's the ultimate red velvet cheese cake. YUM.

no. i'm not a tourist. but yes. i love cheesecake.

February 12, 2011 - my apartment
today was a lazy day. incredibly lazy. but i did start the novel i've been talking about. maybe i can do this.
February 12, 2011 - Seattle
beautiful. right?

February 11, 2011 - Center House Theatre
last night was opening night for Great Expectations at Book-It and what an opening night it was too. the show is very good and the party was fun. it seems every day i am reminded how much i love working for Book-It and how much i want to work in a creative capacity for them some day.

this is my co-worker shannon. we were hired around the same time and i guess you could call us the "young bloods" in the office. she keeps me sane. no really, she does.
February 11, 2011 - Center House Theatre
we hung out with these gentleman for most of the night last night. the one on the left, mike, was shannon's date and friend. colin, on the right, is an artistic intern for Book-It. they both are trying to look dapper in this photo. success?

February 10, 2011 - Odd Fellows Lounge
yummy yummy thursday.

so. cassi and i have been best friends for around ten years now and have been roommates for almost four years...i think. somehow, though, we don't see much of each other. work schedules, social commitments (you my laugh here) and other things get in the way of spending too much time together. because of that we try to do a weekly breakfast. today, it was our favorite little place on capitol hill: odd fellows lounge. they have some of the best scones in the city.

oh, and here's my lovely best friend.

February 9, 2011 - My Office: the Center House
this is what the week before opening night looks like. well, this is what the week before opening night looks like on my side of our office.

actually, i'm trying to build a fort. even at my adult job, i'm trying to be a child.

maybe instead of calling this my "three hundred and sixty five days of photos", i should call it "the year i tried to grow up." as indicated by this photo, i have already failed.

also i need to take more interesting photos.

February 8, 2011 - my apartment
more strides towards adulthood today. i wore a dress. and i wore my heels all day. by the end of the day all these bobby pins were giving me a headache. in my dress, heels, and good hair style i attended a board meeting and looked horribly professional. hello adulthood.

although, i can't entirely claim adulthood. i mean, i did spend half the morning taking pictures of myself. like this one for example:

February 7, 2011 - Seattle Center: The Monorail
just another rainy day commute from seattle center back to home. it's on days like these when it is painfully obvious i don't dress for the weather. right now, it's pure rebellion. i want spring so, i didn't wear a coat. some days i don't wear the right clothes because i can't tell what's happening on the ground from our twelfth floor apartment.

six.

February 6, 2011 - my apartment
i'm not going to lie. the super bowl almost killed me. and this picture is an example of why. this is only about half of the food we ended up eating yesterday. i'm still full.

February 5, 2011 - Center House Theatre Lobby
part of my job at Book-It Repertory Theatre is event planning. today we had an event called tea & tech which exposed a part of our audience to wonders of a technical rehearsal. as an actor, i have almost no idea why you would want to watch a technical rehearsal. but people seemed to like it. and it gave me the opportunity to use some of my coffee cups.

February 4, 2011 - My apartment
this is how i feel today. this is how i felt all week. someone i knew at western died. my second cousin peggy died. i've been thinking a lot about my grandma and nathan. i think death on the brain makes me feel weird.

and the worst part of the whole thing is i can't come up with any other words to describe how i'm feeling. weird is the most articulate way to describe it.

February 3, 2011 - Sullivan's
yesterday was kati dawson's birthday. today, we got the chance to celebrate. it was nice to see people i don't get to see very often.
February 3, 2011 - Sullivan's
i also had the chance to talk to some people who i've only known from a far up until this point. and the best part was find a thursday night happy hour that is fantastic. (Sullivan's, right by ACT, is the place for $5 most things on thursday nights.)
February 03, 2011 - Sullivan's

February 2, 2011 - My office: The Seattle Center House
this is my small attempt to be an adult. i wear my tom's to work and than change into my heels. i also couldn't decide if i liked the black & white photo or the color one better so i put them both up.

February 1, 2011 - Center House Theatre

Great Expectations opens in two weeks. today they began loading in the set. i spent a good amount of time watching the crew saran wrap the ceiling. it's going to be amazing.
but it does make me miss actually being in a theatre. in a show. making theatre.

oh, and day one proves many of these photos will be doctored.
